On average, how much does home owners insurance cost?

I’m filling out somethings for a project for one of my classes. I do not at all need this number to be accurate, I am not going to go and speak with an insurance agent, I just need a number that is about what I would be paying forinsurance if I bought a house

I have been offerred mortgage payment protection insurance by my mortgage lender, but it seems a bit expensive. I think my job is OK, but I do worry as there have been a few people made redundant recently

I was suppose to close on a loan today at 3pm and the loan officer calls me up last night at 6 pm and said that she didnt factor in the right amount on the real estate taxes, PMI, and house insurance. Now the payment she quoted us from the beginning and what was on the Good Faith Estimate has jumped $300

Can insurance on a house be in someone elses name along with yours to make premium cheaper??

Me & my husband are buying a house and found out today that if you have a bankruptcy that this affects you premium costs. So, I was wondering if my dad could put the insurance in his name and list me & my husband as well but use his name for the credit check, etc
