are there not any mandatory courses you must take before becoming a texas insurance agent for auto, home, life…

i pulled up the texas department of insurance and all i see there is to study for the exam…
is that all there is…. just study for the exam… take it… you pass and your an agent?

It looks like your correct. In CA you have to go to school for so many hours before they let you take the test. Looks like Texas doesn’t have that requirement. I could call ask them.

  1. There are not mandatory classes to take the test. There ARE mandatory “continuing education” credits that must be completed every two years.

    Yes. Study for the exam, pass the test, pass the backround check, and voila! you’re an agent.
